Summary:
The accompanying booklet of the Boundaries: a City of Sky and Sea exhibition and project in which visual artist Gill Russell created a body of new work in response to author Esther Woolfson's essay A Narrow Glimpse of Sea. The project was a commission by Aberdeen Performing Arts and the exhibition opened at Aberdeen Music Hall on 25th March 2022. It explored Aberdeen's relationship with the North Sea and the natural landscape of the City of Aberdeen. Extending beyond topographical boundaries, both artist and writer use the natural landscapes of the area to connect to wider, universal issues facing individuals, society and the planet at a moment of maximal awareness of the evanescence of life on Earth.
