Aberdeen City Council and Creative Scotland were the lead funders for SPECTRA, through the Place Partnership Investment Agreement's "Encounters" initiative. SPECTRA Aberdeen's first ever Festival of Light, took place from the 6th to the 9th of February 2014, dazzling the city with a spectacular array of light installations, exhibitions and events. This report provides a background to the Festival's development, an overview of the management and the programme before considering its impact on participants, residents and the city as a whole.
