Summary:
Joachim Lang directs this German historical drama which explores the work done by ambitious propagandist Joseph Goebbels to promote the Nazi regime and incorporates real archival footage. Goebbels (Robert Stadlober) orchestrates a jubilant public response to Adolf Hitler (Fritz Karl)'s return from Austria after its annexation in 1938 and continues to craft public displays of loyalty throughout the war. He also commissions anti-Semitic films and as the war continues he promotes the notion that victory is imminent, until both he and Hitler are faced with the reality of their impending defeat. The cast also includes Franziska Weisz, Martin Bermoser and Katia Fellin.
