Summary:
Post-apocalyptic musical drama from director Joshua Oppenheimer. A wealthy family, headed by Mother and Father (Tilda Swinton and Michael Shannon), have lived for two decades in a salt mine following an environmental disaster which left the lands above uninhabitable. Along with their Son (George MacKay), they live with Mother's Friend (Bronagh Gallagher), their Butler (Tim McInnerny) and Doctor (Lennie James), all believing that life above no longer exists. When a Girl (Moses Ingram) finds her way into the mine, with the story that her family were all killed trying to cross a river, the family reluctantly allow her to stay, remaining dubious of her motives. When the Son begins to develop feelings for the Girl however, Mother and Father face big decisions.
