Summary:
Impressions of Theophratus Such was Eliot's final piece of published work and one of her most experimental pieces; it takes the form of a number of fictional literary essays written by a young eccentric scholar. Theophrastus Such focuses on various types of persons he has seen in society in a series of eighteen, occasionally satirical character portraits. Theophrastus Such typically serves as the first-person narrator, although on various occasions, his voice is lost or confused with Eliot's omniscient perspective.
