Summary:
Ian McKellen leads an all-star cast in this British thriller following the plight of a London film critic. In 1930s London, Daily Chronicle film critic Jimmy Erskine (McKellen) is arrested, along with his lover Tom Turner (Alfred Enoch), for homosexuality. Because of his crimes, he is dismissed from his position by his boss Viscount David Brooke (Mark Strong). Eager for revenge, Erskine recruits actress Nina Land (Gemma Arterton) to seduce Brooke with a view to blackmailing him to get his job back. The cast also also includes Lesley Manville, Ben Barnes and Nikesh Patel.
