Summary:
The Natural Habitat Survey was initiated by GRC:DPP in 1983, to survey and map all natural and semi-natural habitat sites throughout the Grampian Region. This booklet outlines both the setting up and products of the survey and the habitats thus portrayed, with a District and Regional framework. It is intedend as an explanatory presentation of the resources held in the department and to accompany the habitat maps, and has been written for both the District and Regional Council Planning Departments, and for individuals and groups interested in the natural history of the area.
