Summary:
“New Deer and Roon Aboot” is a fascinating miscellany of historical facts and personal anecdotes, some of them written in the traditional Doric tongue. Through poetry and prose, it details the history of the countryside and the village – as well as featuring many larger- than- life characters who lived in and around New Deer. In addition, it highlights a few of the inspirational individuals who ventured overseas - but have never forgotten their Buchan roots. It also includes an interesting collection of photographs.
