Summary:
Jim Broadbent and Penelope Wilton star in this British drama based on the novel by Rachel Joyce. Pensioner Harold Fry (Broadbent) has lived a somewhat humdrum life, reluctant to step outside his comfort zone at home with his wife, Maureen (Wilton). One day, however, Harold receives a letter from his old friend, Queenie Hennessy (Linda Bassett), which informs him that Queenie is dying of cancer. Unable to accept her fate, Harold decides to walk from Devon to Queenie's hospice in Berwick-upon-Tweed in the hope that his journey will save her. Harold quickly inspires ordinary members of the public to join him in his mission, but along the way Harold must come to terms with the tragic loss of his son and the possible breakdown of his marriage.
