Summary:
LOCALE residencies gave artists and the public an opportunity to engage in collaborative projects that explored aspects of life in Aberdeen. Participants and artists decided together what issues to address and how to create and present the resultant work. Artists lived in an apartment provided by Grampian Housing Association allowing them to become part of the local community. PEACOCK visual arts main gallery space was used as a studio and workshop with public access for open sessions and events. LOCALE was funded by the Scottish Arts Council National Lottery and Aberdeen City Council.
