The first feature from British film-maker Matthew Thompson is a darkly humorous coming-of-age drama. The lives of two young brothers, Danny (Aaron Johnson) and Jack (Thomas Grant), are thrown into turmoil when their mother dies suddenly, leaving the boys to fend for themselves. While Danny immerses himself in sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll, the younger Jack reacts to the death of his mother in a less predictable way. With the help of some make-up and his mother's old clothes, he transforms a life-size shop mannequin into a brand new 'mummy'. Jack's obsessive attachment to this new family matriarch soon leads to discord between the two brothers.
