This briefing paper gives an indication of the scale of the inflow of migrant workers to the area, taking into account data for the year ending 31 March 2012. It looks at a range of factors - the countries of origin of migrant workers; registrations in Aberdeen City and Shire compared with other parts of Scotland and several other key characteristics. Two main datasets have been analyzed - National Insurance Number allocations to migrant workers and the annual Pupils In Scotland Census.
