Japanese animated historical fantasy written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. Ashitaka (voice of Yôji Matsuda/Billy Crudup) is a young warrior afflicted by a terrible curse who travels west in search of a cure. During his quest he becomes embroiled in a fight between the human population of a mining settlement led by Lady Eboshi (Yûko Tanaka/Minnie Driver) and the forest animals whose home they are destroying. The forest folk are led by the goddess Moro (Akihiro Miwa/Gillian Anderson) and her adopted human daughter San (Yuriko Ishida/Claire Danes) who is determined to protect her chosen home. Ending this feud could hold the key to Ashitaka's cure but as the forest faces total destruction, is there any hope of finding peace?
