The first five episodes of the second BBC drama series about women prisoners-of-war during the Second World War. Episode one follows the women as they are made to march to their new camp, while episode two shows their joy at reaching the camp and its luxury. Episode three sees the women being made to pose for propaganda photos and describes their suffering under the iron rule of Verna Johnson. Episode four, however, shows their first day at work and their resulting exhaustion. Finally episode five finds Dorothy's behaviour becoming erratic while the other women worry about how to deal with her pregnancy.
