Alcoholic thirtysomething Maria (Ana Fernández) left her rural hometown many years ago and now lives and works in Seville as a cleaner. When her father is taken ill and brought to the city hospital, Maria must play host to her elderly mother. The two women have little in common, but the visit has unexpected consequences, and soon new possibilities begin to open for Maria's future.
