Edward Dmytryk directs this British crime thriller based on the play 'A Man About a Dog' by Alec Coppel. Clive Riordan (Robert Newton), an obsessive doctor, resolves to kill Bill (Phil Brown) when he discovers that the young man is having an affair with his wife Storm (Sally Gray). Clive lures Bill into his cellar before chaining him up and continuing with his meticulous preparations for the murder. However, when Bill is reported missing, Superintendent Finsbury (Naunton Wayne) is quick to begin investigating the case. The cast also includes Ronald Adam, Olga Lindo and James Harcourt.
