Japanese anime thriller directed by Satoshi Kon. When Mima Kirigoe (voice of Junko Iwao) decides to leave pop group CHAM! and pursue a career in acting, it proves to be far more difficult than she expected. She accepts a role in a detective drama but it requires her to film an assault scene which she finds incredibly distressing. When an obsessed fan begins stalking her, she becomes increasingly paranoid and her mental health deteriorates. Finding it difficult to distinguish between reality and the character she is playing, she begins to fear that she might be responsible when people connected to her begin to die. Can she unravel the truth before it's too late?
