Abstract: The Battle of the Boyne was a ferocious struggle between two kings that ended in triumph and immortality for one, defeat and disgrace for the other. For several hours on 12th July 1690, tens of thousands of men scrambled shoulder deep through a fast flowing river under point-blank musket fire.
