British drama directed by Iain Softley which follows The Beatles' adventures during the summer of 1960 when they spent time living and performing in Hamburg. Bass guitarist Stuart Sutcliffe (Stephen Dorff), an artist as well as a musician, begins to drift apart from the rest of the band after he meets and falls in love with Astrid Kirchnerr (Sheryl Lee), an avant-garde photographer. As The Beatles become increasingly popular, Stuart must choose between music and art, and between Astrid and his friends. The cast also includes Ian Hart, Gary Bakewell and Chris O'Neill.
