What should have been a routine NASA mission to the moon in 1970 became a race against time to ensure the survival of the astronauts aboard the stricken Apollo 13 module, after an explosion damaged the craft's life-support systems. This documentary presents the sequence of events from the initial explosion to the eventual touch-down back on earth, in an attempt to get at the real story.
