Guitar-playing attorney-at-law Roger Cobb (Steve Martin) thinks that he's hearing things after getting too close to a bizarre body transference conducted on behalf of his client, ailing heiress Edwina Cutwater (Lily Tomlin). Instead of taking over the physical form of her stable girl, Terry Hoskins (Victoria Tennant), Edwina ends up inhabiting one half of Roger's body - an arrangement which both of them find too close for comfort!
