Jennifer Beals stars in this 1980s musical drama directed by Adrian Lyne. Alex Owens (Beals), a welder from Pittsburgh, dreams of becoming a professional dancer. Hoping to gain admission to the Pittsburgh Conservatory of Dance, Alex works as cabaret performer while struggling against the odds to achieve her dream.
