Bluff Yorkshire craftsman Fred Dibnah sets out to document Britain's industrial heritage in this acclaimed BBC series. 'Wind, Water and Steam' sees Fred investigating one of the earliest forms of power still employed in Suffolk and Cumbria. 'Mills and Factories' finds Fred recalling the glory days of the cotton milling factories in his home town of Bolton, while in 'Iron and Steel', Fred pops along to Ironbridge and Sheffield. 'Mining' features the derelict sites of old mines and some that have been preserved in South Wales and Midlothian, and in 'Railways', Fred describes his early passion for steam engines. Finally, in 'Ships and Shipbuilding', Fred visits the SS Great Britain and pays tribute to his hero, Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
