The first section of the book describes the history and development of the King's College buildings from their foundation by Bishop Elphinstone in the earliest years of the sixteenth century to the present day. The second part includes images of the college, portrayed by a number of artists ; firstly, as it was seen by them in the landscape of Old Aberdeen, secondly, pictures of the college buildings from one aspect, and thirdly , pictures of the chapel both from the outside and inside.
