Romantic drama starring Gérard Depardieu as Alain, an ageing cabaret singer who falls for young beauty Marian (Cécile De France). The mature crooner is a regular attraction in his local town of Clermont-Ferrand, but karaoke and dance music are turning him into a dying breed. One night on stage he sees a beautiful blonde woman in the crowd and sets out to win her over. However, Marian is initially immune to Alain's charms, having been burned by a failed marriage, and the smitten singer has to work hard to win her trust.
