Abstract: As Allied forces moved onto German soil, Hitler set into motion the Ardennes offensive. Designed to re-establish Nazi dominance all the way back to the Belgian port of Antwerp, the battles that ensued pitted weary American soldiers against Nazi ground forces during a brutal counter-offensive that spanned most of the winter months of 1944-45.
