Vivid wildlife documentary focusing on the flamingos of a remote African lake. Close to the Kenyan border, in Africa's Great Rift Valley, lies Lake Natron. The salt water lake, less than ten feet deep, is the home to 2.5 million endangered lesser flamingos who thrive on the blue-green algae on which they feed. Filmmaker Matthew Aeberhard attempts to uncover the secret lives of these little-known birds, and explores the delicate balance that exists between the flamingos and the inhospitable local environment.
