British comedy drama directed by Gurinder Chadha which centres on a day trip to Blackpool made by a disparate group of women from the Saheli Asian Women's Centre in Birmingham. The group includes Ginder (Kim Vithana) who is fleeing from her abusive husband with her young son, pregnant student Hashida (Sarita Khajuria) who is hiding her relationship with her Afro-Caribbean boyfriend Oliver (Mo Sesay) from her family and shop assistant Asha (Lalita Ahmed) who escapes from her daily existence into a fantasy world when she is charmed by an eccentric actor. Meanwhile, Simi (Shaheen Khan) attempts to keep the day on track despite the challenges the group faces.
