Made for television comedy which dramatises the events which followed the release of Monty Python's 'Life of Brian' in 1979. That film, which took a humorous look at the life of Brian Cohen, a man who was born on the same day as - and next door to - Jesus Christ, caused a storm of protest upon its release, with many accusing it of being blasphemous and anti-Christian. Some local authorities in the UK banned the film and there were protests outside cinemas that did show it, leading John Cleese (Darren Boyd) and Michael Palin (Charles Edwards) to appear in a televised debate with journalist Malcolm Muggeridge (Michael Cochrane) and the Bishop of Southwark (Roy Marsden) to defend the film against their criticism. The cast also includes Steve Punt, Rufus Jones and Stephen Fry.
