Alicia Vikander, Oscar Isaac and Domhnall Gleeson star in this sci-fi thriller written and directed by Alex Garland. Programmer Caleb Smith (Gleeson) wins a contest to spend a week at the remote home of his company's CEO, Nathan Bateman (Isaac). When he arrives, Caleb soon learns that it is also the location of a laboratory involved in pioneering research into artificial intelligence and robotics. Nathan has created a robot with artificial intelligence named Ava (Vikander) and he wants Caleb to evaluate her ability to think. However, as the week progresses, Caleb begins to doubt Nathan's intentions. Meanwhile, Ava may prove to be more sophisticated and capable than either man could have imagined...
