James Stewart and Dean Martin star in this classic Western. Posing as a hangman, Mace Bishop (Stewart) arrives in town with the intention of freeing a gang of outlaws, including his brother, Dee (Martin), from the gallows. They are pursued by a sheriff (George Kennedy), whose lady friend (Raquel Welch) has taken a shine to Dee. The brothers try to go straight, but before they can make up their mind they find themselves surrounded by Mexican banditos and are forced to team up with the sheriff to fight them off.
