All six episodes of the BBC courtroom drama written by Peter Moffat and set in the cut-throat world of British criminal law. Maxine Peake and Rupert Penry-Jones star as Martha Costello and Clive Reader, two ambitious young defence barristers who are in the process of applying to become QCs (Queen's Counsel) or 'silks'. Under extreme pressure to perform well and make tough decisions quickly, the pair must overcome their doubts, fears and even their principles to prove themselves at the Bar.
