Richard Demarco presents this documentary chronicling the history of Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city. The city originally developed as a bronze age settlement, and following the Scottish enlightenment became one of Europe's cultural and artistic centres, earning the title 'Athens of the North'. The city has also produced such scientific inventions as the television and the pneumatic tyre, while the Forth Bridge is regarded as one of the world's greatest feats of engineering.
