McHaffie, Isabel, 1918-19851952
Books, Manuscripts
A scrapbook compiled by Isabel McHaffie (1918-1985), while living at 17 Union Terrace, covering the years 1952 and 1953 and recording her theatre activities. Particularly her involvement with the Aberdeen Children's Theatre of Catherine Hollingworth (1904-1999), with whom McHaffie was a close friend, and the Motley Players. The volume is a Cathedral brand news cutting book (no. 434) and contains photographs, ephemera, news cuttings, and some notes. It is largely in chronological order though some of the loose ephemera is not. McHaffie went on to work as a headmistress and was a fellow of the Educational Institute of Scotland. She moved to Dundee in 1966 and returned to Aberdeen in 1981.
