All three episodes from the British television drama miniseries based on the novel by Eugene McCabe. When Beth (Ann Skelly) reaches adulthood, she devises a plan to leave her brutish stepfather, William (Matthew Rhys), and run away with the object of her affections, Liam (Jamie Dornan). With William's controlling behaviour beginning to take its toll, Beth and Liam attempt to escape the Irish countryside together but matters are complicated when Liam's past is revealed.
