German-Polish drama based on real events and set during WWII in which a German army deserter finds a way to survive his deadly situation by impersonating a Nazi officer. On the run from the authorities and desperate to find a way out, Willi Herold (Max Hubacher) stumbles across an abandoned car at the roadside containing an official uniform which he immediately changes into. Adopting the appearance of a real officer, Herold encounters suspicion in his means of deception, but soon embodying his new role becomes a test of his morality as he is made to execute orders of the likes he has never been given the authority to do so and with tragic consequences for those involved.
