Videos and DVDs
US documentary written and directed by Nancy Buirski. In 1944, 24-year-old African American woman Recy Taylor was kidnapped and raped by a group of white men in Abbeville, Alabama. However, despite eyewitness accounts and confessions from some of the culprits being collected by police, the men were never convicted of the terrible crime. Refusing to give up, Recy continued to speak out about her ordeal and quickly became recognised as a symbol for Civil Rights activists throughout America.
