Fochabers is the big town in this collection of old photographs and potted history of these Morayshire places, the remainder being smaller villages. Hence Fochabers and Gordon Castle dominate the first half of the book - the second half being given over to the villages. The author is a well-known and respected Scottish local historian whose text is of a high standard. He observes that although close to each other, the places are different in character. The photos are the typical mix of big houses, streets, schools, transport etc.
