Both feature-length episodes from the eighth and final series of the detective drama starring Martin Shaw. In this series, set in 1970, Chief Inspector George Gently (Shaw) and Detective Inspector John Bacchus (Lee Ingleby), of the North East Police Constabulary, investigate a possible miscarriage of justice in a closed murder investigation and allegations of corruption within the police force. The episodes are: 'Gently Liberated' and 'Gently and the New Age'.
