This article contained on pages 5-13, focuses on the Aberdeen trawler owning firm of Craig Stores, remembered for its remarkable variety of second-hand steam and motor trawlers bought in the post-1945 period, not only from other British trawling ports but also notably from France and, in one instance, from Canada. Craig Stores' vessels including those it managed for associated companies, could be readily identified by a black funnel with a broad blue band between two silver bands and their fishing operations ranged from Greenland and Iceland to home waters.
