Between September 1, 1955 and August 31, 1957 there occurred in the City of Aberdeen 4,527 domestic accidents serious enough to receive medical attention. The following report describes the results of an investigation of these accidents. It deals with all such accidents during the period in question, except those that were immediately fatal, those that occurred during the two Aberdeen fortnights in July of 1956 and 1957, and a small proportion (estimated at less than five per cent). Throughout the two years, the Aberdeen hospitals, 46 general practitioners and over 60 health visitors informed the Health and Welfare Department of domestic incidents which came to their notice.
