Sean Young and Matt Dillon star in this mystery thriller remake directed by James Dearden. Depressed and grieving, Ellen Carlson (Young) continues to struggle after the mysterious death of her sister. When she meets the charismatic Jonathan Corliss (Dillon), she feels like her life is about to change for the better as he begins to bring her out of her depressed state. However, Jonathan's past seems to be connected with her dead sister somehow, and as Ellen looks into the former life of her new lover, she begins to suspect him of murder.
