Tenth studio album by the acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter. The tracks on the album were co-written by Cohen and his long time collaborator Sharon Robinson. The record was produced by Robinson, and engineered by Leanne Ungar who had previously worked with Cat Stevens. The recording sessions took place at two different California studios. The album features the track 'Alexandra Leaving', which is based on a Cavafy poem.
