Russ (Vincent Gallo), Sid (William Forsythe) and Jerry (Adam Trese) are a trio of unemployed men living in New Jersey. Sid is recently divorced, Jerry's wife has just been sacked for complaining of sexual harassment, and Russ wants to run away to Los Angeles with his lover. Desperate for money, they turn to a life of crime, with less than successful results. When they attempt to break into a jewellers, they end up in a bakery by mistake. Then the boys hatch a plan to use an armoured car.
